Empowering Regional Research, with support from the Australian Academy of Science – a Theo Murphy Initiative, 2020.
We are delighted to have been invited to facilitate a leadership development workshop at the upcoming Australian Academy of Science, The Murphy Initiative, ‘The Empowering Regional Research Conference’, 12-13 Feb, at the University of New England, Armidale.
The objective of the workshop, and the associated support of the Australian Academy of Science, is to assist to develop the skills of regional scientists and help them to breakdown locational limitations in obtaining professional development.
This conference aims to create a space where researchers from diverse disciplines can explore collaborations. To engage in conversations around the unique challenges faced by those working in regional and remote areas. The conference is designed to empower regional researchers with the skills required to build successful careers.
Dr Desley Lodwick and Dr Rachel Cameron from STEMMCulture lead this workshop on Leadership Development. Literally bringing the skills to the researchers. Too many of these type of skill development programs are only held in large capital cities.
